Beeswax Candle
Barth’s Candles is a family owned business in Bastrop, TX. Their handcrafted beeswax and bayberry wax tapered candles are hand dipped, some with essential oils and some plain, and then wrapped in tissue and a script detailing a little history on these traditionally made quality candles. Burning one is sure to provide a luxurious and authentic experience.
“Throughout the ages, beeswax has been the preferred wax for candles. It’s relatively high melting temperature, faint aromatic scent and rich golden glow make for a superior candle. Beeswax will naturally develop a soft white powder on its surface if unused for a time. This is known as the ‘bloom’. It can be removed by polishing with a soft cloth. The wick is a directional wick, meant to be burned from a particular end. With a pair of candles strung together the wick is necessarily upside down in one. Occasionally a ball of soot will develop on the end of the upside down wick. This should be trimmed off if it does. These candles will drip, burn in an appropriate holder.”
