New Moon in Cancer

Visit Your Inner Child. Build A Pillow Fort.

As summer days build with summer heat, we dwell along the edges of breezy summer nights. Here crape myrtles prance with frilly blooms of pink and red and violet. Little yellow catkins sway in the Mesquite trees. The Chuck-will’s-widow whipping cuts through the thicket of crickets and frogs and snickering coyotes.

As the dark sky quickens with stars, we settle into our New Moon in Cancer.  

This is a poignant moment to plant seeds about where and how your heart should feel at home.

The moon loves to be in cancer (its own home), and while it sits conjunct with mercury in retrograde, it’s like a special portal in time opens with an invitation to revisit our inner child.

So, spend a little time with that little inner you this moon. Build a secret pillow fort, rewatch your favorite childhood movie, indulge in a pb&j waffle ice cream sandwich. Ask, hey lil one, what can I do to take better care of you? What things make you feel safe and cozy and happy?

Hint: the answers are what you should be seeding.

This moon has a soft square to Saturn, while Venus also squares Uranus. Have you been itching to change something you value to reflect more joy and freedom and ease? What can be restructured to make room for more fun, more laughter, more beauty?

More loveliness in the stars? Oh yes.

There’s a wondrous pattern in the outer planets setting in called a Barbault’s Basket. This energy is dynamic, imaginative, electric, and consequential.

Jupiter, Neptune, Uranus and Pluto are all synchronized dancing in a beautiful circle of trines and sextiles. This play of harmony and compliment has the potential to usher an unstoppable wave of expansion, dreams, revolution, innovation, and transformation. The generational planets are all lining up in a fantastic basket of buoyant golden goodness.  

The tension?

Jupiter in Leo opposite Pluto in Aquarius square Chiron in Taurus. As part of our dream basket prepwork, we are tasked to work on reconciling our wounds around self worth. These may have been given to us by society, but it’s our job to find and repair where we stopped shining.

And thus, don’t pass on this moon’s magic ticket to revisit a more innocent version of yourself. Remember how we used to shine?

After all, that kid really knew how to build a pillow fort.

Hear ye! Hear ye! We shall all lighteth our-eth torches for the New Moon on the Moonsday.

If you got this reference I salute you, for you are about to rock!

The Sun, Moon, and Mercury are in Cancer…feeling emotions each in their way. Mars is in Gemini thinking quickly and inaccurately while Uranus (ha-ha) teams updoing its best impression of Gene Wilder’s boat scene in the original Willy Wonka movie.

“Is it raining? Is it snowing? Is a hurricane a-blowing?”

Yeah, yeah what do the CARDS say?! And again, thank you for asking. Ya’ll ask the best questions.

Get weird. Work backwards to find solutions. Start at the end to find the beginning. Like pulling a string from a sweater, sometimes the undoing of a situation gives information on how to fix mistakes. 20/20 vision, hindsight and what-not.

Uhhhmmm…errrrrhhh. There is a tiny hiccup though… you kinda have to be perceived rubbing your stomach and patting your head simultaneously, while walking backwards. There may be gum chewing. Don’t rule anything out right now.

It’s gonna get weird and it’s gonna be perceived. Because…psst..come just a little closer.
