New Moon in Libra
That Balance. That Harmony. That Beauty. That Love.
By MJ H.

As we begin to settle into longer and darker nights, this moon finds us steeping like an ember colored tea bag in a midnight brew. Our New Moon in Libra is here! Supporting the shift into fall and calling in more balance, harmony, beauty, and love. Hooray and welcome: the vibrant fall pallet, the joy of lil festive gatherings, the wonderful tumble of holidays… but oops! Where’s Venus in the sky right now? Retrograde in Scorpio? Oh slime slime what a time.
As Libra’s planetary ruler, we are looking to Venus to set the tonal mood for this moon, and well? Venus struggles in Scorpio, and in retrograde: flails. Let’s add a hard square to Mars in Leo, and voilà, sparks fly.
This could look like rom-com flirtations… or it can look like hell spit fury. Sparks can just as easily lead to a mellow candle lit evening as to a a blazing inferno. It’s all in the balance of the situation.
So! Take note of how tension points ignite this weekend: in our relationships, in our sense of self-worth, or in our material wellbeing. Where you feel it is what is calling for that balance, that harmony, that beauty, that love. (Libra! Libra! Libra!)
A square to Mars can also lend us a lot of energy, and with a sextile from Uranus, we have the potential to channel that tension into some unique creative action. Get fun with it. Go dance a gothy tango while digging up your worms.
In fact, this is a great moon to be digging in the dirt. Whether planting your fall kale harvest or halloween tombstones in the yard. Turning the earth like a rolling zombie might help externalize this very internal Venus in retrograde process of reviewing and churning and purging out poisons.
You can also just brood in your feelings. Plot. Scheme. Strategize with color coded notes. Simmer, sulk, go to bed.
There can be a peaceful tranquility in a mellow darkness. There can also be silent anguish. While this process seems more the latter, new moons always promise a fresh cycle, to start over.
Yes, some way the world feels unjust might howl in the night. You will feel a call to action, but it’s also aaaaalllll just ok to surrender to being a mess. Let yourself process. Shed. Molt.
Molted stuff is good of fall gardens. Or hey, Halloween ephemera.

“Peas In An Infinitely Finite Large Pod”
Tarot Pull for the Full Moon in Aries
by Tiff Inman

‘Kay. So in order for this to make sense, I request we (reader to reader) imagine we are anthropomorphized peas in an infinitely finite large pod. Yes.
Now, I want you to pretend you and I are snuggled up to all of the other peas that make up our world. Dogs, cats, iguanas…cashews. Every living thing has turned into a cute lil green pea. All in the same pod. A snug fit.
My green forehead is touching your green forehead as I talk to you. You see how zoomed in we are. Like right in your face. (My breath is fresh a little minty, you’ll be fine.)
Everything in our lives right now with the retrogrades seems to be zoomed in to the point of not really being able to take in anything as a whole.
We’re watching an old school television set and we’re sitting soooooo close to the screen we can see each pixel’s striated color mix.
When everything is so in your face you can lose sight of the big picture.
It isn’t to say attention to detail should not be taken seriously. It IS to say we can get hung up on particulars like the individual texture of sand particles in an hourglass while dismissing the amount of time the sand represents in total.
The hourglass loses meaning when we become too exacting. The granules are each distinct. This is true. We can recognize this fact while keeping awareness that the hourglass represents a visualization of the concept of time.
Right now feels cramped and anticipatory.
Freddie Mercury sang about this very thing*.
So what do we dooooOOOOoooooOoooo about it.
Just a little Halloween humor or Samhain if you will, badump-bump.
Well, we have to make a decision on what we’re going to do to zoom out.
Are we stuck or are we wearing some golden handcuffs? Is there a safe word or sign you can raise to tap out of what is holding you back?
If you can take some time to answer these questions you can work with your circumstances. It is hot and close in the collective pod, but if you can gather within your personal sphere it might be easier while waiting for the pod to open and give us all a little breathing room. States of being change. It takes patience and measured action to mark time until the next phase begins.
*”I Want to Break Free”, that’s the song.
I knew you knew it. Never doubted you for a second.
