New Moon in Gemini

Upgrade Your Mindset

Well hello there New Moon in Gemini!

Let’s chat. Let’s ask questions. Let’s rethink.

Let’s upgrade our mindset.

Summer vibes have begun to seep into view. Sunflowers bounce in empty fields, cheerful and optimistic. The bees flirt with your drink while wearing thick yellow pollen pants. Puffy clouds drift lazy against blue skies.

The sun drags its feet on its way to bed. The children too.

While the season bustles with pool parties and birthday parties and camping trips and backyard cocktail socials, we arrive here at our New Moon in Gemini. It says, hey take moment and take inventory of your thoughts.

Consider: are these contents what I would like them to be?

This is a great time to weed your mind and make room for planting new ideas.

As the days begin to sizzle, we like to get outta the heat. Loiter too long in the library. Muse curiously at a museum. Spend all day at the movies.

Look for something new to get excited about. Be ready to change your mind.

Mercury just entered its pre-retrograde shadow (stationing retrograde June 29th), and so there is a pleasant mental stillness to this new moon. A pause, a breath, a dreaminess. It’s ok to slow down. Linger with your ideas. Take them one by one like stars and reshape them a little.

We may also feel a bit muddled. Get the date wrong. Lose our keys. Forget to call back. That’s ok too. Gemini is adaptable.

Venus (now in Leo!) sextile Uranuslends this moon a spontaneity and playfulness. Excellent time to improv wild stories, mess with your hairdo, tie dye your neckties. Plan an elaborate scavenger hunt for your romantic interest.

More loveliness?

Neptune sits sextile Pluto. This deepens our inner world, integrates transformation, and helps us process collective trauma via the imagination. Melt into void, but in a nice buttery kind of way.

Oh and the tension you ask?

Weeeee! Uranus is squaring the Nodes. This brings sudden life path break-throughs, shifts, changes. Can be jarring. There is an ache for personal freedom here, and a deep desire to finally let go of that sagging baggage.

And with Uranus hanging out in Gemini, it’s a potent time to shatter what dumb beliefs no longer serve you. Definitely part of that sagging baggage. It’s a long process, Uranus will be here a while, so take your time. Our upcoming Mercery in retrograde will be a nice and tidy time to review and to edit those old thought patterns.

Cause yep, it’s time to upgrade.

“It’s A Purple-Banana Mixed Up World”

Tarot Pull for New Moon in Gemini

by Tiff Inman

June 15th?

Ha! That’s funny. It’s the sixth month and one plus five equals six.

In Tarot, Gemini is the Major Arcana card VI (6) The Lovers. The sister or “twin” card of The Lovers is also in the Major Arcana, XV (15) The Devil. They are two sides of the same coin. Real Kermit and Constantine.

I’ve been told having to explain a joke voids the ability to deem it laugh-worthy. I disagree.

Pushing on, let it be known that you’re probably going to want to scooter away Jetson-style from anything you perceive as a dictate.

You are making it your business tofind exactly how to honor your own joy because it’s SPRING d***it!

You’re no longer asking if anyone else wants to go and validate your desire to go to that weird store that intrigues you.

Nawr, you are NOT!

What you “awr” doing is allowing yourself to be stubborn about your joy. We are allowed to be happy even when things are on fire and the evil twin is allowed to take a turn. This is the “talk-to-me-I-talk-back” side of ourselves’ time to shine.

When someone attempts to make you change based on accommodations for their pallet, you are allowed to not serve them your time, energy, or pain.

Do what you’d like.

(Without harming people and blaming your “other side”. Own your accountability!) *off the crate*

Under this moon, I’m going to take this opportunity to get weird* in the most unassuming of ways.

Be odd on even days and even on odd days. It’s a purple-banana mixed-up world.

*the Author’s definition of weird includes watching or listening to old Lawrence Welk when feeling a little stressed
